One company, one plant, built for the long run.

Tanweer Qewa Energy Company is a special purpose vehicle set up for a single job: to develop the Tabarjal Solar PV Plant and run it for the full life of its power contract.

The company was founded by Jinko Power Technology (Hong Kong). Every kilowatt-hour the plant produces is sold to the Saudi Power Procurement Company under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement, which gives the project a stable, long-term footing.

The plant sits in Tabarjal, Al Jouf Province, where clear skies and high solar irradiation make the region one of the strongest locations in the country for photovoltaic generation.

Of installed solar capacity in the north of the Kingdom, contributing to the national target for renewables in the power mix.

What the plant means on the ground

  • 900,000MWh a year

Expected annual generation. Clean electricity delivered into the national grid through SPPC.

  • 42,000homes

Roughly the number of households that the plant’s yearly output can supply.

  • 8 milliontonnes CO₂

Emissions offset by replacing fossil-fuelled generation with solar power.

The project is part of the Kingdom’s National Renewable Energy Program and supports the energy goals of Saudi Vision 2030: a more diverse power sector, lower emissions and new industrial activity in the regions.
